Brje pri Kopru is a small settlement southeast of Kopriva, Karst region. A small village is assembled by typical pitched roof stone house units. Typical karst house is not a detached house, but U shaped complex assembled by living volume and agricultural volumes, with small windows and exterior stone stairs leading in the first floor, sleeping area. A stone wall surrounds and protects the courtyard and house, opened to the sun south-west, protected from hard wind from the northeast.

The complex was badly reconstructed in 1980 with some addition, out of proportion apertures, and inappropriate materials.

The project is about the reconstruction of the whole complex with the idea of the small, boutique hotel special, and unique program. The client is an obsessed chess player with the idea of the Chess Academy, where the gusts - chess players, will find the place to prepare for a chess competition, contemplating, meditating, studying the chess strategies, and keep gaining the physical and psychical condition on the high level. The Chess Academy program also offers a high-level of local culinary service with some high rated chefs.

On the ground level, we organize the public boutique hotel space organization, with a kitchen and service space. The first floor is dedicated to hotel rooms, while the attic space is dedicated to the small gym, yoga, meditation, and library.

The yard is an important part of the complex, organized as an exterior living space for relaxation and study at the same time.

The idea of this project is not just subtle reconstruction, reusing all historical stone elements, stone-paved space, respect the historical proportion and volume, but to bring the interesting international program into the Karst area. Chess Academy.

The small house is located in a small village in the hills above Koper city. Moreover, even the plot and the client budget is small and thin. But big enough to fulfill local regulation and to organize the dwelling space for a young family.

The design process started with the list of the client’s demands and wishes in a strong relationship to the plot, solar insulation, space organization, interior in exterior communication, volume proportion, general textures, and color. During the design process, the decision regarding building construction was made. Timber construction finds as the most convenient and rational option for this small house.

The house is organized in two levels. The ground floor is dedicated to day life with extinction to the north and south terrace and open space in between. The entrance, bath, stairs, and kitchen block is located on the east side of the volume, so the entire west volume becomes open space which can be extended in the south and north direction. Bothe terraces work as en extension of the mall house.

The core of the house is the stairs and stove.

In the upper-level slipping and intimate spaces are organized.

The small house is the project and the story about how to pose the answer to the client question: how can we build a small house in an extremely small parcel, surrounded by the beauty of nature and sea view, but still feel the wide horizon of our everyday life.

Villa Kampel is located on the steep slope of the Kampel settlement in Koper. In finding the idea and development of the concept of the contemporary single-family house, there were taken into account both positive and negative realities of location, orientation, access, and climatic data.

The client wants a house that will stand out from the average with the basic architectural idea, rational placement in a challenging location, by designing rational and simultaneously daring constructions. In the design of the building, which will be primarily in addition to the basic accommodation functions, devoted to rest and pamper with views of the sea and nature, we wondered and answered questions about the allocation of the program, illumination, use of materials, aesthetic Links, a combination of contemporary design and art with the nostalgia of Baroque.

The idea of the house is to get into it from top to bottom. Thus, we enter the house "through the roof" and the Mediterranean garden, after wide one-way stairs. With the associations at Piazza Spagna in Rome and Duchamp picture Nu descendant un escalier n ° 2 from the year 1912, the view slips through the living room, greenery and stops at the sea. The basic living space is divided into two parts, separated by fireplace: a dining area and a living room, which are accompanied by the oblong terrace. Sleeping quarters are on the lower floor. There are two bedrooms. One designed for guests with an additional bathroom and wardrobe. Second, a master bedroom with a bathroom, wardrobe and a connecting patio. The view from the bed offers luxurious views of nature and the sea, while the user is surrounded on its left with a water-a view of the bathroom and on its right with fire-fireplace.

Two local companies contact us at the very beginning of their attempt to help them to find the proper land for the future development of business in the Sežana town. The lack of space at the existing locations both companies face the problem of the administrative, logistic and warehouse space. One as the plumbing experts and the other the experts of the irrigation systems decided to build two headquarters and warehouse space as one designed complex to reduce the building cost.

At the very beginning, the client's demand was to assist not just to design the buildings and providing the building permit but also in providing the strategy of the future program of two companies developing their business at the same location.

The design process started as a set of questions and research on the existing programs. We focus our strategy process on understanding their program, connections, exclusions, logistic and local conditions to design the future complex. The second stage was to divide the entire land of 2.800m2 into three units - plots with the ability to operate both programs in one complex.

L shaped complex is composed of two headquarters and the covered space in between as the manipulation space. The flexible program organization follows the basic need of two companies with office and warehouse programs.

The rational construction, the floor plans, and the facades are the consequence of the program organization as the flexible parameter of the design result.

The new production building and headquarters of Barone boutique pasta is located in the southwestern industrial zone of the municipality of Sežana, just on the state border with Italy. On the Northside, it borders on an existing public route. On the South and West sides, the plots are overgrown and open to green areas. The object is designed as an elongated rectangle, with ground dimensions 28,60 x 37,90 m. The program n is divided into the ground floor, where production is organized with a specific warehouse, an employee space, an input for raw materials, and output for products. On the second floor is organized the administrations, meeting room and archive. The main entrance to the building is emphasized by the additional volume along the west side. Unicorn stairs and an elevator are installed here. The cantilevered part of the floor in the southern part of the building offers open common areas - a terrace and offices of leading stuff.

The construction system is a prefabricated concrete construction on grid 12.0 x 6.5 m.

The full-volume panel façade is designed simply, functionally, and completely follows an internally flexibly designed space that mixes the possibilities of different organizations and different scenarios of boutique pasta production. In designing the facility, special attention was paid to quality and stimulating work environment. The design of the Barone industrial building and headquarters reflects the modern character of a successful family business that only sends the best pasta to the market.

The project is a transformation of one of the abandoned warehouses in the Port of Koper into a new wardrobe place for hard workers. 

The Port of Koper has a triple size of the historical elliptic shape of Koper. As one of the logistical centers of the Northern Adriatic Sea, it brings to us a strong interest in its function, connections, the human condition, working environment, and its urban context. The fact that the Port of Koper is an active urban system that goes on 24 hours per day the whole year and is run by a symbiosis between the human body and the machines was our starting point in designing the new working environments. We started the project studying and deep analyzing the existing human condition and the everyday worker’s life in the Port of Koper.

The fast growth of the port requests a new job position and a new worker’s area where they can rest, dress, wash, socialize and keep a positive attitude in all the different difficult working conditions.

The new wardrobe place is one part of the renewal of the 1.300 m2 headwaters of the Car terminal. In addition to the wardrobe, the project also includes new offices and accompanying terminal management facilities.

On the basis of the study of the worker’s conditions in the Port of Koper, we humanized the hard worker’s space with the new wardrobe units’ organization and the choice of the colors.

The project of the 460 new wardrobes definitely deviates from the established practice of creating spaces for workers in Luka Koper and provides a stimulating, attractive, energizing and positive environment.

Beach Volley park In Koper is one of the new sports areas of the large city layer Bonifika taking the southwest part of the city. The Beach Volley park is organized as a mixed sport and pleasure program for different ages of the users on the 12.000 m2 plot along the main sea promenade of Koper. The two main playgrounds whit the modification ability for the different games on the sand, the sports promenade as the connection diagonal with shower and tribunes, different game activity (fitness, kids games, trampoline), running track and service sports building are conceived the new life bit of Koper city.

The project for this luxury residence on the slope of the hill with a random architecture of one family house began with an interesting conversation with a generic and full optimistic young businessman The question about what luxury of the dwelling of today is and which parameters of architectural elements build the environment for contemporary active life open the main issue for the project. The plot, orientation, sun position, access, interior move between different spaces,  surrounding houses, the view, and privacy are the main parameters we have discussed during the process of the project. And, sure! the local regulation, which prescribes, among other parameters, pitched roof and a max high of the general volume was taken into account. In the second stage of the study, we included all the different materials, colors, lighting, and the question of the interior design, which is always changeable. Searching in between general laws and specific changes led us to the final forms and design of the residence. 
On the ground floor, we designed an open space with a living room, a dining space, and a kitchen serving the interior and exterior terrace with a pool. On the north side, there are two bedrooms with a bath in between with access to the garden. In the north part of the plot, where the terrain is descending, we have designed the basement entrance along the wide stone stairs, one leading into the basement and another leading to the olive and Mediterranean garden. The client heavily focused on the private part of the house which is the first floor. We developed the idea of the central sleeping area with surrounded services, like a bathroom, toilet, wardrobe room, and a big terrace with a sea view. The terrace is also connected with a pool terrace with open-air stairs at the main entrance. Waking up in the morning the client can see the two cities from one point.

The Martim Moniz Square, an area in the heart of Lisbon, overlooked by the city’s castle and one of the its main landmarks, has undergone numerous changes throughout history.

During the XIV century, a fortification comprised of 70 towers was built to protect the city. Today, one of its only remains is the Jogo da Péla tower, located on a slope on the east side of the square and found in very poor condition. Known for being, nowadays, a neighborhood dominated by the immigrant communities, a melting pot, this zone has been steadily growing into a vibrant cultural center.

This project aims to give this area a new landmark, designed to be an upward continuation of the Jogo da Péla Tower and to place the Martim Moniz Square in a new architectural panorama. The New City’s Landmark was designed to value its location importance by having a significant height, which was determined by the city’s highest point, the Miradouro Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen. It combines the old, existing construction with a new, contemporary element, which will house both private and public areas. Its program comprises offices, co-working spaces, and a vertical park, which will function as a 3D sculpture for its surroundings.

Being located in an area known for its cultural mosaic scene, the project’s starting point was to find elements capable of conveying two ideas within the new edification’s architecture: this fusion of immigrants, and the translation of the old into the new, and of the new into the future. This last idea was the gear for the first line of this project - the “base” of the volume - which is a mirrored silhouette of the existing topography. Following this, the other guidelines were also taken from the terrain, which is the edges where its inclination changes. Once established the height of the new edification, the main volume was decided.

The second idea of this project, as mentioned, was to translate the existing “melting pot” of the Martim Moniz surroundings into the building’s architecture. Three were the main elements for achieving this goal: the visible repetition of layers (levels) - representing the overlapping of cultures - the mixed-used program, which divided the building into 3 parts (private – core – public), and the usage of different materials on its facades, composed of different “envelopes”. Behaving as the edification’s skin, they aim to emphasize the relation between the local and the general, the past and the future (sustainability), the man-made and the natural. The offices area will be covered by a skin inspired on the Portuguese sidewalk tiles (the local Pedra Portuguesa). The core will be covered by a see-through material, allowing the visualization of its interior, the movement of pedestrians inside it, and the link it makes between the other two parts. Finally, the 3D park will have a dense vegetation skin, that starts from the bottom and climbs up the whole structure. It will have its own circulation system, composed of stairs that comes out of circle-shaped pierced slabs. The holes’ positions were established based on a tree structure, and its circular form was a way of connecting the park to the office area (circular skin), giving the whole building a sense of unity despite its divisions.

The elementary school Dr. Bogomir Magajan has been rendered too small by the population growth of the town Divača in the last couple of years. To accommodate the new wave of junior schoolers, an extension of the actual venues is needed, but since there is no available space on the actual plot the only way to go is up.

The particular character of the proposal comes from its restraints: the lack of terrain and the need to keep the sound functioning of the existing school throughout the whole building process in a way that no day of school will be missed due to construction.

In order to address these restraints, a particular architectural approach was required: a bridge-like structure rising above the existing building without disturbing it. The proposed structure will also stand as a room divider outlining the future classrooms, a new library and a free open space devoted to playing and socializing. The proposed spacial frame allows for functional flexibility according to the fluctuation of the number of children and the need for open space. A metal mesh will wrap the resulted volume conferring its own identity.

The one family residence for a young family in the rural Karst area, close to Trieste city, is a result of the traditional Karst compact architectural space. Its design consists of a low volume, which follows location and weather effects.

The house is a result of a combination between the typical Karst historical typology and contemporary living requests of the client. Simple volume, rational program organization, views connection between interior and exterior, and natural features are its main features.

The main volume with a traditional pitched roof and gallery contains the main living area. It is organized as an entrance space, connected with two covered parking places, a service area, kitchen, and a dining room extended into a living room, which leads to the west oriented terrace.

A military complex, located in the area of the former country border, will be completely demolished and removed. A modern complex for the needs of the Lipica Stud Farm is going to be built in its place. The unique program of the "Stallion Semen Collection" is conceived as an entire quarantine. Either the elongated object or simply the fence of the area - quarantine represents the main designed object of the complex. The soft, wavy line of the quarantine border acts like a horse heartbeat on its climax or the astonished horse floating gallop. The complex envisages the placement of the program related to veterinary activity, namely a laboratory part, apart for the collection of seeds, and a box area for the accommodation of horses. Along with the building, there is a separate area for the simultaneous accommodation of eight foals and eight mares, with all necessary rooms for nourishing and feeding them, and the room for the insemination. Next to the main building, there is a slightly shifted and completely isolated oval object for quarantine. The design of the landscape includes manege and several smaller pastures. At the entrance, there are 7 parking places including one for disabled people. The master-plan design follows the conceptual logic of the program while using the idea of the soft line - the fence that wrapped the "giving seeds" main room.

The area of intervention comprises a complex of abandoned and partially demolished buildings on 6 parcels. The location is located in Neblo, in the municipality of Brda. 
In the area of the existing complex of facilities, the investor intends to regulate the object "AGRO-TOURISTIC COMPLEX MIHARJEVI" which includes the construction of 3 buildings with a common parking lot, manipulation service, and communal infrastructure.
Building № 1 will be built on four floors, with a total area of approx. 2700m2. The purpose of the facility is to arrange rooms for accommodation with catering and commercial work and connection to the basement in which is situated the representative “barricaia”.
Building № 2 will be built on two floors, the total area of approx. 2000 m2. The purpose of the facility envisages the arrangement of industrial wine production of capacity from 100.000 up to 200.000 bottles with warehouse and arrangement of auxiliary premises for the harvesting of agricultural machinery.
Surroundings of the complex, composed of stone walls, infinity pool, walking paths, and vineyard provide a delicate fusion of old into new.

RECONSTRUCTION - HIPPODROME LIPICA STUD FARM

The idea of n integrated renovation of the Lipica Stud Farm racecourse appears at the opportunity of hosting World Championships in dressage, which will be held there in autumn 2017.
This specific location is arranged with several smaller interventions that are visually and functionally coherent, also taking into account the fact that the farm is a protected area declared as a cultural monument of great importance for the RS. Therefore, all new services are provided underground so the interferences with the space are minimal in order to respect the phenomenon of Lipica’s cultural landscape.
The racecourse is embraced with a new circular path, which continuously runs along the entire length of the gallery and elongates with light bridge construction over the gap on the southwest, also elegantly separating the paths of visitors and performers. 
New seats are designed as a staircase terrace, bordered with a white concrete line.
The existing roof has been replaced with two symmetric thin steel structures, cantilevered behind the seats so the visitor’s view to the arena is free.
The lodge for reporters and judges is almost hierarchically raised on a platform in the southern part, below which the mounted electronic screen stands.
In the Northeast and the Northwest of the area are at last placed toilets, hidden under the grandstands, which stand on the West elongate to the service building with changing rooms and multi-purpose room.
The new rounded building becomes one of the new icons of the racecourse as well as of the entire Lipica; a white concrete lamella curved to the contour of the terrain with panoramic wall and terraces opening to the private part of the valley.

TRANSPORTATION HUB IN KOPER

The proposal for the Transportation hub is a research project aiming the further urban development and new economic strategies for the city of Koper. Transportation hub is located in the north-eastern area of city with the size of 110,000 m2 it has enormous potential for future urban development. That area has very specific position as it separates the historic part of old city and the industrial area of Port Koper.

Historical part of the city has solidified structure and is separated from the industrial part city by the traffic. On the other hand, industrial areas have a very different character and topography form the historical part.

The main task of this project was to establish the connection between the old town and the industrial areas with different program areas that have public character and the result was Transportation hub.

Transportation hub is a place where passengers and cargo are exchanged between vehicles or between transport modes. Public transportation hubs include train station, rapid transit stations, bus stops, tram stops and ferry slips. Other facilities and areas that are included in the research project are: business area, cultural area and leisure area.

Brolo Square is the "green heart" of the historical city of Koper. The idea of this project is to change the space, considering at the same time, the new and the old character of the city.

The current status of Borlo a Square is largely subordinated to stationary traffic and, as such, acts as a roundabout, an uncontrolled parking place. The urban equipment is worn out along with the green areas and the promenade.

The idea for the new arrangement of Brolo Square resulted from one of the most important features of the old town of Koper: atriums with special Mediterranean vegetation that are inaccessible to the public. And so, the project becomes a public "atrium", with typical vegetation, resembling a fenced garden city.

The used shape "ameba", is a metaphor hidden inside Koper's specific atriums, and their unique vegetation. At the same time, the "amoeba" is a flexible unit, offering the possibility to regulate the existing circulations and perceive everything as a whole. We propose to convert the classical park paths into fluid transitions across the amoeba. The edge of this organic shape is used as a seating place and also as a lighting source. Two uniquely designed vertical lights, emphasize the north-south axis, where can be found two historical fountains and new water motif.

The mixed-use project is located on one of the most frequent road connecting Trieste with the region of Kras and Lipica, the stud farm nearby. This is one of the most romantic landscapes, full of the dramatic history of the west Slovenian side. Close to the sea and at the same time in the heart of Kras, the site offers a series of advantages in developing such a varied program in one spot. 
The project is organized in two levels, in a simple rectangular shape. With an east-west orientation, 50 m long and 15 wide, the plan offers a very rational organization with clearly defined spaces.
The building is divided into four main parts: a bar, a beauty clinic, a dentist's office and a couple of guest rooms. 
The bar contains a lounge area that binds the building's levels through a round opening that allows the light indoors and emphasizes the connection towards the outside scenery.
The beauty clinic is equipped with a spa with sauna and jacuzzi, all connected to the south terrace which offers a gorgeous view of the surroundings. The dentist clinic, designed with a modern approach, has a separate entrance on the east part of the ensemble. 
The design of the building follows the logic of the Kras region's landscape, keeping the design simple, with clean volumes, using local materials and sharp aesthetics, offering the client a relaxing but active environment with a strong connection to nature and romantic views.

The office building is located at the West end of Sežana town where the new center of this town has emerged in the last years. Sežana town has developed after the Southern railway from Vienna to Trieste was built.  It was originally built by the Austrian Southern Railway company and ran to Ljubljana and Triest, the main seaport of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy. The town of Sežana has developed between two hills and along one road and railway.

The program of the office building poses itself a couple of questions: how to organize the appropriate volume for he office unit as economically as possible, as the future tenants are still unknown. So the main question is - how to design an office unit which can be modified in different arrangements and how to design a general volume which has to appear in this area as a new brand?

The office building is organized in tree floors. The entrance of the building is at the East side of the volume and is designed as a two story space, wrapped by the slightly folded transparent skin. The stair and elevator both lead to the upper level.

The floor can be divided between four units or remain an uniform space.

The construction of the building is rational, economic, but still ambiguous enough to form a branded building in the area of mostly boxy low-cost shopping malls.

The advantage of this office building is to provide the clients, the future unknown tenants, to be as flexible as possible and as economic in space arrangements as an office volume can be, but still maintain the unique designer elements of the building, and what is more, to unleash the question about the relationship between the architectural part of the office program and the volume as a new brand of the urban space.

The General Renewal of Stud Farm Lipica is after more than 30 years one of the most significant interventions of the cradle of the first Slovene brand, the 438 years old Lipizzaner horses. The unique place »genius loci« and the unique cultural landscape landmark, where man has subordinated horse breeding, are just a few parameters and the main characteristics of Lipica are world phenomena. 

The uniqueness of this area and the specific ambients follow the basic concern of this place – the main activity of this place is the breeding of Lipizzaner horses.

The project of The General Renewal of the Stud farm Lipica emerges from the uncover and the reconstruction of its primary urban issues: oak and chestnuts avenues, urban links, parks, points of entry, the technical heritage, water reservoir, fountains, infrastructure, and new transport arrangements.

 To expose and established the network connections of the general urbanistic idea of Stud Farm Lipica and emphasize specific historical content is an essential task of this project.

 In all the interventions and reconstructions of the specific historical objects, tree promenades, fences, benches, lighting, and paving the parks and square we have followed the logic of the Lipica Stud Farm wherein all stages of its development this place was understood as a modern and polite elite urban place.

 Our interpretation of it grows out of a posh oasis in the raw Karst region, where horses are the main characters, surrounded by the green kindly shaped island.

 The meaning and the message of the project The General Renewal of the Stud farm Lipica is not just a reconstruction and renovation of specific heritage objects and infrastructure, but it is reestablishing a new platform to observe. Lipica has reevaluated its primary and essential dimensions.

The historical core of Lipica Stud Farm was completed in the first decades of the 18th century. One of the main historical buildings is also a former, several years abandoned restaurant. In the past it served as dining room for workers.

The reconstruction has been made on a three level building with a rectangle plan and central axis. 

In the basement there has been organized a wine cellar with exterior stairs access. At the first level there are two entrances, which connect the main hall with the East and the West terrace. There is a stone bar and two separate dining halls. The stairs above the toilets lead to the loft which is organized as a separate lounge space.

According to the program of the Culinary Museum and according to the specific conditions of the Institute of the Protection of Cultural Heritage, the projectwas developed and conceived as a compromise between the actual requirements of the new construction, the program organization and the heritage presentations.

The Culinary Museum serves as a State of Slovenia protocol culinary building.

The main issue of the house for middle aged couple is the view. Small plot on the Slovenian coast is slightly inclined and has optimal orientation with the spectacular view.

Client request of less the 200 m 2 of the plan area in two levels and modern design approach home were the main parameters for the project. The proposed program scenarios of the house in two floors allowed client total privacy when kids and friends are visiting.

The two floors are connected with the interior and exterior stairs. At the basement is organized visitors apartment, storage and fitness area. At the level of the entrance from the north side is organized main apartment oriented to the South with a wide terrace.

The design of the house addresses ascetic design, flat roof, use of simple and traditional materials and rational organization that defines the house with a unique spatial character.

The proposal - concept design - for the Museum Square in Koper emerges from versatile urban layers and the idea of the combining diverse Mediterranean city content. Contemporary art and preservation of the old urban tissue define the Mediterranean area and everyday life of their residents. Analytical overview of the past and at the same time clear vision for the future, offers an exciting mixture of those two institutions which together form a creative and different perspective on life and development of the city of Koper. Mixture of the past and future "in situ."

The proposed program derives from the idea of a modern Mediterranean: Contemporary art and Conservation center are inseparable generators of the city center development. Art, tightly integrated into the process of development facing the future, and the conservative views of the historic values of the past. Mixture of two horizons, resulting as the vertical of the city center of Koper.

The client - Municipality of Hrpelje - Kozina, seeks to revitalize the city center of Kozina, which is currently without character and with unregulated traffic. Open space of 7800 m2 as status quo is intersected by diagonally traffic route. Regional road is urban undefined, while (contextually) already acting as the center of Kozina. The public space - urban confusion with traffic roads, parking places and pedestrian path - is surrounded by shops, cafes, apartment building, bank and petrol station. Links are meaningless and difficult.

After the construction of the general Slovenian highway network and consequently, new traffic arrangements the town of Kozina and Hrpelje got a new undefined status. The question raise of what center and what is the point of the phenomena of the center of Kozina in the future? How it should be organized and what kind of character should represent the main public space of Hreplje - Kozina? What materials to use? Which trees to plant? How the existing program function throughout the year? What are the potentials of the existing program? What modern urban character is suitable for the place of Kozina? The proposal of our project responds to the questions.

This space is expected and needs a new geometry, rational transport links; layout stalls for pedestrians, cyclists, arrangement of green areas and parking. Center of Hrpelje - Kozina needs a market that will attract visitors locally and globally. Hrpelje - Kozina requires a public and a central space that would tell the story of history, traditions and modern life at the crossroads of multiple worlds.

The task of designing the center of Kozina stems from the need to raise the status and standard, it is necessary to upgrade the existing programs and go to assign the status of a modern urban space with a modern design center.

Taksim square in Istanbul is one of the most fascinating and intriguing and dynamic place in the world. Surrounded by anonymous architecture with no design value, proportional scale, Taksim Square today, has the status of a neglected place.  How to convert this extremely important and potential place into "place to be"?

The idea of the project TBT – Taksim Blue Tower emerges out as the answer to social protests - people fighting to protect the urban park next to Taksim Square – the Beyoglu district, one of the rare largest green parks of Istanbul. In fact, in May 2013 the authorities have presented a plan in which they would build a shopping mall shaped as the reconstruction of the former Taksim Military Barracas. Citizens answered extremely loudly to the authority plan with protests to protect the green plot of the city.

How to organize and provide a shopping mall of the future in the city of trading without demolishing the green part of it? What is the potential hybrid city program, which could reanimate and encourage the city authority to the reconstruction project of the Taksim Square? What is the new Landmark of the city? How can we connect the horizontal and vertical communication of the city?

The main focus of the project is creating all the synergies for a perfect platform for a “shopping mall of the future.” It is organized as a vertical green void space, which takes account of everything a city program needs. “Trading” and “mixed culture” are two parameters that best define the character of the city of Istanbul. Using new technology and new trading concepts, the project TBT becomes the new city Landmark.

TBT project is a combination of a traditional and futuristic city program - social activity: living, working, hosting, producing a creative culture and trading in one vertical green plaza or public place.

The sphere is the futuristic emphasize of the project. It is a time machine, a futuristic theatre, a cultural centre all in one. It engages the creative life and enriches the entertainment life of the city of Istanbul, too.

The Trbovlje Chimney of the power station was built in 1976 and is the tallest flue-gas stack in Europe. The 360-metre (1,180 ft) high flue-gas stack was poured in 210 days. It required 11,866 cubic meters (419,000 cu ft) of concrete and 1,079 tons of reinforcing steel. A high chimney was required for the site to ensure that emissions were removed from the deep, narrow valley under all weather conditions.

Most of the Slovenian firms and companies which enjoyed the reputation and success in the past are out of busines today. The same is for the power station - the chimney is out of business, too. 

What is the proposal to reanimate the monument - the highest chimney in Europe?

Analyzing the collapsed Slovenian economy of today - it is very clear that one of the big problems is the bizarre and deeply ingrown bureaucracy in mostly all of the state and municipality segments as well as in the global political European system. More over, the bureaucratization and extremely inefficient politics are one of the biggest inside enemy of our state.

The idea and proposal for the reanimation of the Chimney of Trbovlje is to invent the sanatorium to cool and treat the people - bureaucrats and politics - who lost the connection with common sense.

Have you ever thought of the place where you could send a state officer, a municipality officer when you are blocked in the middle of a bureaucratic process; applying for some documents, consensus or permissions? Sure, a bureaucrat is an eternal story character!

We have an answer!

"RehaBureaucrat" is a space installation, a mental device, a rehab tool or a sanatorium for helping bureaucrats and for people who are victims of the bureaucratic way of understanding life. 

Users of the "RehaBureaucrat" must reach the top - sanatorium - just by using a spiral path - Via cruics. By walking they must strongly focus on gravity, orientation, basic elements as the water, air, wind and earth, rethinking on the constructive and creative solutions in the average life problems. 

Seven days of dwelling in the RehaBureaucrat and treat the spirit in "the blue cloud of health" is needed to help Slovenian economic progress.

When the "RehaBureaucrat" or the "BureaucratCooler" will successfully end up its mission it can be turned into an attractive adrenaline hotel or hostel for people who would love to enjoy "the blue cloud of health" and admire the nature, river on the bottom and surrounding tops of the mountains.

The area of the third pier of Port of Koper (part of the National Spatial Plan) includes 330.000m2 of the Northern part of the Port of Koper. The area borders with the Northern part of the coast which has disorganized sports programmes, local moorings, a military base and a shellfish farms. On the East there is a water channel and on the South there is the second pier of the Port of Koper. This area represents an enormous potential for a logistics center of the North Adriatic.

DEVELOPMENT TECHNOLOGY PARK Koper - RTPKP - occupying the Northern half of the planned third pier, it represents a total infrastructural backbone of the entire system. The program and the content of the third pier is a logistics and distribution upgrade of the Port of Koper, which connects, activates and motivates the development of the local and wider environment. Position of the RTPKP on the third pier is an option, the possibility of installing it on a second or the first pier, depending on the need and port development in the future.

Communications program, links and logistics are split into different segments and represent the backbone on which is mounted - a high-tech dynamic content to meet the needs of the modern man.

The idea of the project RTPK is an efficient, self-sufficient, modular intelligent system. The project in itself it has all the characteristics of self-regulation organism, which - if it is necessary - it can be modified by growing or reducing its programs. Modularity and pragmatic infrastructure compose the basic power parameters (sun, wind, tides, temperature differences). They compose it, assembled or disassembled. The systems area is in connection with the park layout, which is a logical continuation of Ankaranska coast.

The design emerges on the geometry of basic infrastructure, which includes the North side of the park complex. Digital and analog world, high technology and nature, energy efficiency, modularity, simplicity and efficiency are just some of the main parameters.

All the three basic modules plots comprise the smallest unit - the shipping containers, which can compose different variations and can be integrated in the urban network.
Companies, research centers, universities and individuals represent the intelligent system allowing fast and effective route from “idea to product” and their global distribution.

RTPKP is an important step in the development of the local community, as well as a distinctive element of the modern environmental broader society.

The coastal belt on the North is a green undulating terrain, crisscrossed with walking paths that offer employees and visitors the opportunity to spend some quality time there.
The park arrangements at the end of the pier extend into an exhibition space for the promotion of high technology. A learning path allows visitors an insight view into the technological processes through trail and demonstration pavilions.
The use of the follow-up program generates spaces and opportunities for cooperation meetings in a good working environment.

House NLP appear in response to the questions related to a specific location and complex family program.

The idea is "having a house in a house," living space behind and in front of the perforated stone wall, the dwelling frame, where the light and the gaze are the main design tool. The program is organized in 3 levels according to the following hierarchical parameters: the view, lighting, communication between programs, in-door and out-door communication. The house is rethink on the modern Mediterranean life, connected with a nature through the whole year. The house has a geothermal heat pump with a vertical loop that both heats and cool the living space, supplement by a stove in the living and dining room.

The sleeping and service area is organized in the basement. The units are set up as an individual parts. The core of the house is composed by the staircase, elevators and the infrastructure. The ground level is a living area, home office and guest room. The penthouse and terrace is an outdoor living area with the view towards North - the Mediterranean sea. The design concept allows the client for the further modification with a small intervention.

City center of Semedela - Koper

The proposal for the new City Center of Semedela emerges as strong objection of the local civil initiative against the bizarre, over sized - 20 story high "project Jadro"  which was forced by the plot owner and his real estate adviser. The local people organised the board and invited the Scientific research institute - Univerza na Primorskem and  D-R-A-F-T- architects to prepare a deep social research about the local capacity, realistic local need, potential program and urban research which is the base for the architectural proposal.

The proposal for the City Center of Semedela responds to  the human scale, modern urban Mediterranean lifestyle, focus to the public place and promotes the creative urban life with strong connection with the Mediterranean nature. The proposal for the City Center of Semedela  is designed as a rational and discrete architectural interaction of specific ambients with strong emphasis on the creative mixed use program. The complex of the City Center of Semedela  on the one way respects  the local character - regional modernism of the city of Semedela and on the other way the concept is ambitious enough to invite and encourage local people and visitors, to live creatively and comfortably in all the segments of their everyday life.

EUROPEAN STATES live during a time when there is a shortage of large, of continental-wide vision. The nationstates look inward, look only to themselves and make no moves. New ideas come from the periphery. The Slovene Coastal Region shows a future for the continent—it gives a vision to Europe. Koper, Trieste and Rijeka are part of the field, which has been formed by a century of shared penetration and mixing of Slavic, Latin and broader Mediterranean cultures. Architecture and Urbanism are here as a part of our common life—one in which each element acts individually while both are organically connected in a balanced whole. Each component speaks a language you know; everybody understands them.

KOPER is between Trieste and Rijeka and is the geographical center of the three port cities.It offers the opportunity to develop an ambitious economic, financial and commercial role to lead the »United towns« of the northern Adriatic. Why develop the center of an interurban network during this region's national economic crisises? The answer lies within the question. With the merger of European Union cities, they now become the makers of visions for the development of European regions . Our competitors are not North European countries; they are, rather, Northern ports. In the global context of Europe, of the Middle East with Dubai and Aden, of China with its twin port city of Ningbo, our allies are Trieste and Rijeka. And these cities have a Centre of Logistics in Koper—if not Koper, will it occur in the other two cities!

Koper's Masteplan: the area between the historical part of the city and »Škocjanski zatok« defines a new urban gesture—the cross. As the town was historically defined and organized by the Roman cardo/decumanus /central square urban plan–their main urban elements of communication and trade. One can see them today as a central " communication " link in the form of nature park, water channel and vertical Landmark. The water channel connects the sea and »Škocjanski zatok« and is part of new access roads to the city. Marina channel adds value and summarizes the historic role of the inner harbor. The Park connects the horizontal program; it, however, rises in its role as the vertical city »market.« It becomes a transformed place of modern commerce and creativity—a world of vertical and modular plots city. If we want to have more green space on the ground plane of our city we have to build in height. Since Koper,'s deregulated and uncontrolled urbanism, has made it a city without a recognizable character, our project offers new dimensions and opportunities for Koper to create and achieve a new urban identity with world-wide recognition.

KANELA TOWER: the theme and shape of the tower derive from the stem cane, or more specifically, from the shoot cane, which is an autonomous plant of the reserve indentation and the wider Istrian eco-system. The idea of the tower stems from the conceptual, functional and program parameters - vertical  posts. Since this is the first and highest vertical object in the EU, we think it should be designed in a sustained and almost shapeless - or least obtrusive - form, such as a needle . Kanela Tower will have already achieved the success of its presence through  strong psychological, urban form and space, economic.and political impacts on Europe . The program of the tower from the bottom up is: office and business part for development  companies, hotel and tourist activity to promote the Adriatic, a diplomatic zone, luxury  apartments, a restaurant with an entertaining program, like a HardRock Cafe, and a viewing  platform. Since creativity drives both art and business, we think a link between them will provide greater added value to this program.

The location of the project T28AS or the original name of the public square "Trg 28. Avgusta" is historically one of the most important sites and east entrance in the town of Sežana, located on the Krast region, near the border with Italy.

Sežana remained a small and insignificant village until the mid-19th century, when the Austrian Southern Railway connecting Vienna to Trieste, was built next to it.

Later on (in the history), by the construction of the main Slovene highway (diagonal connection, Sezana and its main vein Partizanska street.) the town of Sezana was developed along its main vein Partizanska street. (east- ovest oriented).

The site of public space project T28AS is important for one more aspect, which is the presence of water on Karst region. The porosity of Karst’s geological terrain brought water shortage and lead people to develop spatial empathy to the water collecting in the typical pool, fountain and cistern. Today, after our intervention, a different type of water reservoir appears in this place: we represent the water as an abstract stone carpet with green gaps.

The reconstruction of the location, used as a non-organized parking place and disordered urban geometry between the railway on the south, church of St. Martin and postmodern building of the Municipality of Sežana and Villa Mirasassi on the north, was one of the first steps of the reanimation of the public places along Partizanksa Street in Sezana.

The idea of the reconstruction and design of this very important public space is about overlapping, layering different space geometry belonging to three consecutive historical stages at the main historical cross, as well as preserving the presence and the importance of water on Karst Sežana. Meanwhile, under the terrain of the site is place stone build cistern which is presented in the stone pavement and glass floor window as the part of the urban design context.

Using slightly inclined terrain in the north direction as the base design parameter was the main issue at the design concept stage. The abstraction of the new geometry of the typical Karst »dry stone wall« following the inclined terrain level and using various stone surface processing is the main approach of the design, which also brings in front the idea to promote heritage of stone processing in the quarry (in the area) nearby. The set of three sculptures, designed and manufactured by two young students of the School of material design and photography in Sežana, is the final stage of the project. Špele Šedivy in Matej Župec designed a set up sculptures that emphasized the story of the past and pointed out the sharp view of the future of Karst region and town of Sežana.

The house have been designed over two level. The specific location, the orientation of the sky and solar exposure, the connection between space and last, bot not least, the magical view are one of the main parameters of the design concept.

The villa is reached along its separate access road with guest parking space arranged alongside of it. The house is vertically divided into two terrace: the lower and lined with a marl stone wall and the upper one designed in a modern fashion featuring a luxurious opening to the south, west and north. 

The toilet, cabinet and wardrobe are next to the entrance door. The stairs linking the sleeping areas obtain another function - that of nook for reading, meditation and relaxation enhanced by the panoramic view.

Sleeping area and service areas are at the lower level where each bedroom has a panoramic window opening at the lawn. All service and sanitary areas are below ground and lit by means of light well.

 HLM project is a mix use - housing & business residence located on the edge of the city of Ljubljana. On the very small plot client want to fulfill max. capacity of mix use program: parking, offices, apartment and private dwelling for his parents. The program is organized in very simple volume, regarding max capacity of the local regulations.

SUNGARDEN is an additional complex - independent, U shaped 19 units - to the existing swingers club in a small village Majcni in Slovenia, close to the Trieste.

The specific program, particular rules, behaviors, personal and intimate relationship of the users, orientation - connection of the unites and strong privacy are the main parameters of the design concept of the new swingers complex.  

The design concept emerged form the local characteristic of the simple volume addition of the typical Karst house, forming a complex that surrounds the central courtyard., material use and minimal design approach.

New NUK II was placed in the southern part of the city center of Ljubljana, the Roman, Slovenian and Zois Street and Emonska street on land measuring 6,300 m2.

Its prime location and historicity provide a strong contextual connections for simple and complex at the same time "system of three houses," which will become the center of the flow of physical and digital information space where the active population, especially the space imparting knowledge an incoming generations.

The starting point in developing the project NUK II derived from the following parameters:

- fill the city block, according to the system of composition L
- archeology is not just the subject of the past time, but it is the opportunity for a new understanding of the history and the active engagement of city parter and temporal layering of space activity
- NUK II complex is designed "by" and "above" archaeology: allows maximum flexibility in the interpretation and presentation of archeology
- the creation of city block, and tackle urban corner
- proportionality of building materials, which are balanced with the city
- 3 volumes and a single wrap different densities of materiality, which expands the context of contemporary urban facade
- functional design and operation of an organized program of NUK II

Viktor Sulčič, also known as Víctor (or Victorio) Sulcic, was a Slovenian born Art Deco architect in Argentina. He was born in 1895 in Križ (in Italian Santa Croce) near Trieste, and died in 1973 in Buenos Aires.

After completing his studies of architecture in Florence and Bologna, Sulčič emigrated to Argentina in 1924. He joined two other architects there: José Luis Delpini and Raúl Bes. The two most famous buildings, projected by the team, are located in Buenos Aires: fruit and vegetable market (in 1999 converted into a shopping mall) Abasto, completed in 1934, and Boca Juniors stadium La Bombonera, completed in 1940.

The idea of the artistic residence comes up from the question how to connect the nature and very complex contemporary life for architect and musician. The project is based on the poetic idea of the rock wall, which is one of the essences of the Karst mankind topography, transformed in the idea of the oblong volume floating above it.

The villa MMH is located  at the South construction site of the village of  Lokev, typical  Karst village close to Trieste.

Open-air studio for national TV Koper - Capodistria is a reconstruction and program intervention of the typical Mediterranean atrium in the town of Koper. The abandoned space between TV Koper - Capodistrian complex designed as a connection of two studios as a glass corridor and atrium - open space which is used for creating different TV shows.

The art project Experience Mid Dimension is a photographic experiment - research on the interaction of the space and time complexity. Using a photography as a media to discover the meaning of the "mid dimension" of the real space and random act is the main idea of the project.

A series of large format photographs was filmed in in a Karst quarry. The photography as the research media of the subjective selection of the unfolded sequences and architectural abstract frames is the main topic of the project.

The heterogeneity of the character of a square framed sequences are regulated from a specific to a general plan. The series of images, as well as is each image, is focusing on the abstract ambient, spaces, fragmented detailed, traces and random situations after workers finish their daily physical hard job.
